Jamie Carragher know the reason why Mohamed Salah was held back by Nunez after explosive touchline row with Jurgen Klopp that made Liverpool fan angry

MOHAMED SALAH had an explosive touchline row with Jurgen Klopp during Liverpool’s clash with West Ham.

And the Egyptian had to be HELD BACK by his Reds team-mates as all hell broke loose.

The Reds’ star man started the trip to the London Stadium on the bench, much to the surprise of many.

Outgoing Kop chief Klopp decided to throw the former Chelsea and Roma ace on in the 78th minute after Michail Antonio’s equaliser.

And it all kicked off after the German walked towards the winger to give him some final words before he went.

Salah appeared to take exception to what Klopp said, gesticulating with his arms as his gaffer chirped away.

And the 31-year-old wanted to get up close and personal with the German to give him a piece of his mind.

Fellow sub Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomez intervened and cooler heads eventually prevailed.

The incident didn’t go unnoticed by footie fans, who flocked to social media to weigh in on the Kop row.

One wrote on X: “Salah should’ve been on ages ago.”

Another said: “Not good.”

And another said: “The dressing room is gone.”

One remarked: “Definitely not the way you want to end an era.”

Another chimed in: “Klopp caused Salah wasn’t ready to go on earlier?”

Klopp was quick to pour cold water on the matter, saying: “We spoke about that moment in the dressing room with the lads, it’s done”.

When asked if Salah has moved on from the incident, he added: “Yes, that’s my feeling”.

However, Salah didn’t seem as calm, simply stating: “If I speak today there will be fire.”

Jamie Carragher believes he knows the reason why Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp had a touchline row in the West Ham draw.

“The only reason a manager would be unhappy in this situation, is the player took too long to be ready to come on,” the ex-Liverpool defender tweeted.

The theory could make some sense, as West Ham scored an equaliser while Salah was preparing to come onto the pitch.

Liverpool lost further ground on Premier League leaders Arsenal with a draw in East London.

A 2-2 draw has left the Merseysiders two points behind the Gunners, who have a game in hand.

Mikel Arteta’s troops will look to put more daylight between themselves and the Kop club on Sunday afternoon.

But it won’t be easy task as they’ll travel across North London to take on their bitter rivals Tottenham.
